Taking the Next Step Up...
The Intercounty Youth Soccer League (ICYSL) is a cooperative recreational soccer program of member town clubs based in central New Jersey. Our mission is offer as many children as possible to participate in a semi-competitive soccer program through their local organizations.
EUSA has been a member of the Inter County Youth Soccer League (ICYSL) since Fall 2009. We started with 4 teams and now have 14 teams represented.
ICYSL organizes a Fall and Spring Season and it is expected that players registering will play both seasons. ICYSL administers boys and girls divisions for U10, U12, U14 and U17 age groups.
All brackets except U10 play a regular season and play-offs to a championship game. The U10 level just play 10 games with participation trophies awarded at the end of the season.
The Inter-County League provides a nice stepping stone for those thinking about playing travel soccer.
Tryouts and Age Groups
There are no tryouts for the Inter-County teams. Players are free to register and join an existing team within their age group. These age groups are known as:

When and where Inter-County teams play
Inter-County soccer teams generally play five (5) games here in Edison, and five (5) games in other towns that are usually within 30-40 minutes driving time from the Edison area. These games are generally played on Satruday, although there may be an occasional game played on Sunday due to a towns field availability.
Practice, Practice, Practice
The only way to develop a better‑skilled player and team is to practice, practice and practice. Inter-County teams practice one to two times a week. One of these practice sessions may be run by a professional trainer who assists the coach (at an expense that must be paid for by members of the team). Teams, especially those that are older or play in higher‑skilled divisions, may practice more often and those additional sessions may also be run by a professional trainer. The dates and times of all practice sessions are determined by the team’s coaching staff.
Fees
The fee that must be paid for each player on an Inter-County team is $75 per season. This fee covers the registration costs for the season, uniform fees, referee fees, as well as insurance costs that are in effect. Uniforms are expected to be used for two (2) seasons.
Playing Time
EUSA policy is that all children will play a minimum of 50% of the game. Coaches and their staff do their best to ensure that all children receive appropriate playing time.
