To whom it may concern:
I am the President of Edison United Soccer Association. I would like to clarify a few points in your recent article concerning the incident on Sunday, October 24th. The incident took place during an Adult League Fundraising Game and involved an Adult player and the referee.
Edison United Soccer Association has been a community partner in Edison, NJ for over 35 years and we’ve never had an incident like this. EUSA is a member of SAGE (Set a Good Example) and we do not tolerate this type of behavior. We consider our organization a family and strive to set positive examples for our children. We expect our players, referees and parents all to conduct themselves in a civil, sportsmanlike manner and to be respectful to all.
The player in question has been removed from EUSA and will not be allowed to participate in any future events.
The Adult League was set up as a service to our soccer community and was an enjoyable experience for the adults involved until this incident. The Adult League has suspended play until this matter is resolved.
We are regretful that this incident occurred and are taking the necessary steps to ensure that it never happens again.
If you have any questions, please feel free to contact me to discuss this further.
Sincerely,
Douglas Weh,
President
Edison United Soccer Association
