EUSA F-License Class Sponsored by NJ Youth Soccer

EDP Futures, Development ICYSL & Travel

EUSA often hosts a USSF F‑License class for volunteers who wish to become certified. This certification is required by many leagues and clubs in the State of NJ. All F‑License classes in the State of NJ are offered by NJ Youth Soccer and you must be coaching for a club that is affiliated with NJYS in order to participate in this class.

EUSA usually holds two classes each year: one for the Spring season and one for the Fall season. Each class is 9 hours long and takes place over three nights:

  • Night 1 – Classroom Discussion
  • Night 2 – Practical Instruction - Skills and Drills Pt. 1
  • Night 3 – Practical Instruction - Skills and Drills Pt. 2

Each night’s class is 3 hours long, typically starting at 6pm and ending at 9pm. You must participate on all three nights in order to receive your certificate from NJYS.

Online F License Course via US Soccer

Micro & Recreation ONLY

Earlier this year, the US Soccer Federation launched its Digital Coaching Center (DCC), which included a National US Soccer "F" license. While NJYS encourages new coaches to take advantage of this content, the US Soccer National "F" License does not meet the minimum standards for coaches addressed in NJ’s Little League Law. Therefore, the NJYS “F” course continues to be required to obtain a NJYS Coaches Pass (this applies to InterCounty & Travel Coaches).  The 2-hour US Soccer "F' License course will be considered sufficient for Micro & Recreation coaches.

The US Soccer "F" license is a two-hour online course that costs $25.00 paid to US Soccer. This online course cost includes a one year membership to the Digital Coaching Center. Please be advised that completion of the US Soccer National "F" License is a pre-requisite for the US Soccer National "E" License. However, only the NJYS “F” course is a pre-requisite for the NJYS State “E” course.

DESCRIPTION

The “F” license is a 2-hour course, conducted entirely online, intended for all parents and coaches of youth players. The focus of this grassroots course is to share U.S. Soccer’s best practices in creating a fun, activity-centered and age-appropriate environment for 5-8 year old players.

ELIGIBILITY

The “F” license course is open to all applicants at least 16 years of age.
