Again, CONGRATULATIONS to ALL of our TEAMS on their successes and great season.  Aside from the wins, I am proud of all of you in how you (parents, coaches & players)  represent Edison United Soccer Association with class, dignity, skill and great sportsmanship.  We received a lot of positive feedback in how our teams comport themselves and represent our club.

Here's a quick summary form our Coaches:

U14G (A) Avalanche (3) vs. Scotch Plains Fanwood Sapphires (1)

These two teams have been playing in the same division since they were in 5th   grade but this is the first time they have faced off in Finals Fest.

It was a very even game with no score at the half mark. When the second half began, there was a corner kick for Edison, and it was converted into a goal for the Avalanche and the first one of the match. But the Sapphires would not be silenced and came back to tie it up with a penalty kick goal due to an Edison foul.

Later in the game, a cross came in and deflected off a few players and ended in the Sapphire’s net. To finish it off the Avalanche had a shot from the top of the box and scored.

Kateyln Clemens was named Player of the Championship Game. The final score was 3-1, Avalanche. The overall record for the Avalanche this season was 7-1-1.

U14G (C) Supernovas (4) vs. Cranford Lady Cougars (1)

We won the U 14 C Championship We broke out to a 3 to 0 lead in the 1st half.  Cranford Lady Cougars cut it to 3 to 1 early in the 2nd half.

Ritika Bhatnagar got taken down and received a penalty kick in which she converted to make the score 4 to 1.

U12G (C) Fireballs (2) vs. Westfield Reign (1)

The girls have truly represented the club and town in the best way and have shown true sportsmanship through this 2015-2016 ICYSL season.

U12G (B) Chelsea (2) vs. Cranford NRG (2)

Edison Chelsea won the Championship on Kicks from the mark (3-1).

U14B (C) Arsenal (2) vs. South Mountain Vipers (1)

It was really great place to be. Fantastic hospitality from SP. game was very intense from the first minute till last whistle. We finished first half with 2:0 lead and thinking that 1st place was in our pocket. But in second half the Vipers scored a goal and kept us on our toes for about 15 min. Then penalty shot was awarded to them. But our goalie made a fantastic save. 5 min later we had our chance to take 3:1 lead on the penalty shot but their goalie was fantastic too.

It was best final we ever played. Thanks to EUSA to give us opportunity to get where we are now.

U12B (B) Colts (3) vs. Westfield Red Bulls (0) for 3rd Place Finish

U14B (C) Rattlesnakes (2) vs. Kenilworth Spurs (3) Took 4th Place

The Rattlesnakes 3rd place game was heartbreaking. We were ahead 2-1 with 20 minutes to go and had a penalty kick to go up 3-1. The penalty kick was missed and the Kenilworth Spurs got a lot of momentum from the miss.

We defended really well until 3 minutes to go and the Spurs finally were able to equalize. We continued to play and unfortunately got a handball right outside our own 18 yard box. The Spurs were able to put in the direct kick on literally the last kick of the game.

We dominated the game early and most of the second half and were very comfortable defending. Kids were respectful and of course upset but understood this sometimes happens. Proud of our second place regular season and our fourth place playoff finish.
